BIOGRAPHY

Recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America® for 2023-2024, for his work in Estates and Trusts, Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a concentration in Death and Dying from the College of Charleston before earning his Juris Doctorate degree from Elon University School of Law in North Carolina.

Ryan advises clients on a wide range of estate planning, trust and estate administration, business succession, and tax matters. He understands it is never too early to begin thinking about your legacy and is ready to show you why an estate plan is essential to plan for your future.

Ryan has been featured on both WRKW Work FM (93.9) and the podcast “How to Live Life Fully” to discuss the importance of estate planning and providing longevity and security for future generations. He also regularly offers in-person seminars and webinars on relevant and emerging topics that directly affect clients, such as the incorporation of cryptocurrency into and development of modern-day estate plans.

In addition to his legal expertise, Ryan has established relationships with experts specializing in financial planning, wealth management, cryptocurrency, real estate, and insurance to provide clients with a holistic program of estate management services that is simple, controllable, and sustainable.

When not working, Ryan is active in the local community and currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors of Medical Homes Plus, a non-profit organization that helps families of children with special needs find resources and assistance, including Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) services in conjunction with local school districts. When not working or volunteering, Ryan enjoys golfing, relaxing by the James River, and spending time with his husband, Alec, and their two dogs Weezy and Angelo.
