Schooley Law Firm, P.C. is seeking a highly-motivated junior, mid, or senior-level associate with high aspirations for career development to join its esteemed boutique trusts, estates, and tax practice in Richmond, Virginia. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in estate planning, estate administration, and trust administration.
The firm is seeking an associate that can grow with the practice and has high aspirations for career development. The firm offers its associates the ability to work on sophisticated transactions for high-net-worth individuals, the opportunity for extensive client contact, and an environment that encourages consistent professional reading and teaching to members of the bar. Candidates must have experience handling initial client meetings, drafting estate plan documents, and completing an engagement. They should also possess the ability to focus on detail, be capable of self-direction while working with a team, and possess excellent research, writing and verbal communication skills.
Candidates who have experience with high-net-worth individuals and families, trust and estate administration, and estate, gift and GST tax planning are preferred. If a candidate does not have such experience, those with an LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning, ranked in the top quartile of their law school class, or graduated from a top-tier law school are preferred. Experience in business and marital planning is a plus.
Salary is commensurate with experience, and both health and 401(k)/Roth 401(k) matching are provided. Candidates will be asked to submit a writing sample before interviews. Virginia Bar admission or eligibly is required.
